Our Story
At the heart of Lucky Beaches is a simple idea: life is better by the water—and even better when shared. We bring together women in and around the Emerald Isle area to explore our beautiful coastline, build meaningful connections, and encourage one another to try new things. Whether it’s a beach walk, a sunset gathering, or something a little outside your comfort zone, our mission is to create a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and just the right amount of adventurous.

Our story
Lucky Beaches began in 2021 with a simple idea—and a kayak. Our founder, Christine, wanted to go kayaking but needed someone to go with her. Within an hour, what started as a small ask turned into something much bigger: 100 members joined, the group had a name, and our very first meetup was on the calendar… which, ironically, did not include kayaking.
From that spontaneous beginning, Lucky Beaches has grown into a vibrant community of women in and around the Emerald Isle area. Today, we bring together local women from all walks of life who share a common goal—to connect, get out, and stay active in our beautiful coastal community.
What makes this group special is that it’s more than just events—it’s real friendships, shared experiences, and a supportive space where showing up is easy and meaningful. And while kayaking may have started it all, it’s the connections we’ve built along the way that have kept us growing.
And we did eventually get to go kayaking!
